Retina care for Central New York.
Diagnosis and management of the most common retinal conditions.
The retina is the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, and conditions that affect it can lead to serious vision loss if not caught and managed early. Eye Consultants of Syracuse provides diagnostic and treatment services for a range of retinal conditions at its Syracuse and Fulton offices.
What are the warning signs of a retinal problem?
Sudden flashes of light, new floaters, a shadow or curtain across your vision, or rapid vision changes can signal a retinal problem and need prompt attention. If you notice these symptoms, call Eye Consultants of Syracuse at (315) 422-4412 right away for an evaluation.
Conditions we treat
- Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), dry and wet forms
- Diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema
- Other common retinal conditions, in coordination with retinal subspecialists when needed
Treatment
Treatment depends on the condition and may include in-office medications, laser treatment, or referral to a retinal surgeon for procedures such as vitrectomy. We coordinate with retinal subspecialists in the region when more advanced care is appropriate.
